Currently, there is no airport in Grudziądz itself. But the aviation history of this city is very rich. The Vistula Aeroclub operating on the northern outskirts of the city is a reference to the long-standing aviation tradition in Grudziądz. In 1921, the Higher School of Pilots was founded, which was then transformed into the Aviation Officers' School. This school was moved to Dęblin, where it operates until now (2022) as the School of Eaglets. But that was not the end of Grudziądz's aviation history. The Aviation School of Shooting and Bombing was established in the facilities of the former aviation school. In 1934, the Glider Club was established, the nucleus of the future Aeroclub, which later received the name of the Grudziądz Aeroclub. In 1936, the Higher School of Pilotage was established for military pilots, graduates of other military schools. The traditions of the Grudziądz Aeroclub began to be continued by the Vistula Aeroclub in a new place, in Lisie Kąty.

The village of Lisie Kąty.

Lisie Kąty is a small settlement north of Grudziądz, which is separated from Grudziądz by the Osa River (the right tributary of the Vistula). In 2011, the village was inhabited by 90 people. There is a Iron Foundry, a kitchen furniture factory and two service plants in the village. Access to the village is provided by a municipal road that connects to the National Road No. 55 and No. 16.

National Road No. 55 connects Nowy Dwór Gdański (National Road No. 7) with the town of Stolno (National Road No. 91). It is 123 km long and runs north-south. It runs through the towns of Sztum, Kwidzyn and Grudziądz.

National Road No. 16 is a road running from Dolna Grupa near Grudziądz to the border with Lithuania in Ogrodniki. It runs latitudinally through the following voivodships: Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie and Podlaskie. It is the main communication route in Masuria.

The airport is located in a picturesque part of Poland. To the west is the Vistula River, and behind it Bory Tucholskie. To the east is the Iława Lake District. To the south is the Chełmińskie Lake District. These areas are thermally good, which makes them ideal for glider flights. The landing field is large, but on flying days there is a lot of traffic in the air: gliders, motor hang gliders, planes. Currently (2022) the Vistula Aeroclub runs the following sections: gliding, airplane, ballooning and modeling. Hostel is run in the building of the flying club.
