The railway station in Goleniów was launched on April 1, 1882. At that time, the area of Szczecin belonged to the Prussians, and the city was called Gollnow. As a result of the end of World War II, the area was granted to Poland by the decision of the "Great Ones of this world". On October 25, 1945, the station was renamed Gołonóg Pomorski. In 1946, as a result of the work of the Polish Commission on Naming, the name was changed to Goleniów.

From the very beginning of 1882, the station carried passenger and freight traffic. A typical two-story red brick station building was built at the station. Inside, there was a ticket and luggage office, a restaurant, railway service rooms and apartments. The toilets were located in a separate building.

The station building was destroyed by the Soviets in April 1945. The city of Goleniów was destroyed in 60%, and the old town completely. It was a typical action of feral Soviet soldiers.

The new building of the station in Goleniów was built at the beginning of the 1960s. The building was representative, with large glazing from the side of the platforms and the station square. The building was a two-story building with a flat roof and an extension. Inside, there are four ticket offices, ticket machines, a buffet, a waiting room, a RUCH kiosk, toilets, and railway service rooms. In the following years, the number of cash registers was reduced to two. The station building was plastered and painted. Initially brown, and in recent decades blue. Over the years, the station has grown old and lost its usefulness. It was too big and the cost of heating it was high.

The new station building was built in place of the demolished old station in 2021 - 2022. The building was built as a transfer center. There is a train, bus and minibus station. The building is much smaller than the previous station. Inside, there are two ticket offices, and one of them has a lowered desk for passengers in wheelchairs. The ticket office is open: Monday - Friday: 5.30 - 17.00, Saturday: 6.00 - 13.30, Sunday: 11.00 - 18.30. There are toilets, benches for travelers and a buffet. The buffet is open from 6.00 to 18.00. The station hall is open from 5.30 to 22.00. Toilets are open during hall use hours.

On the station square, there are six roofed stops for buses. An interactive timetable monitor was installed for travelers to search for train and bus connections. An audio and monitor system with information for travelers has been installed throughout the station. Security system cameras have been installed. Bike racks have been set up. The monument of Marshal Józef Piłsudski was exposed in the square. A new car park for passenger cars was built, as well as two charging stations for electric cars.

The Goleniów railway station is a junction station. In 2019, the station served about 1,500 passengers a day.

There are two platforms at the station. Platform 1 at the station has a single edge. Platform 2 is an island with two edges. In 2009, the platforms at the Goleniów station were modernized. The platforms have been raised. Bus shelters, new benches and litter bins were installed. Access to the platforms is at the track level. There is no tunnel under the platforms for travelers at the station. Near the station (northern head of the station) there is a footbridge over the pedestrian tracks along Maszewska Street.

There was a small locomotive depot at the station, which was closed in the 1960s. The water tower, with a different purpose, is located about 200 m from the station to the south. The former water tower has been adapted (2021) for the needs of the "Rampa Kultura" cultural center. The former warehouse has also been adapted for the needs of the "Rampa Kultura" cultural center. The former railway building has been rebuilt into a garage for the Municipal Guard.

There are traffic lights at the station, which were installed during the electrification of the Szczecin - Świnoujście route. Shape semaphores remained only on non-electrified tracks. These semaphores were removed in 2008.

Currently (March 2023) 50 passenger trains leave the Goleniów station daily. You can go to: Kamień Pomorski - 1 PolRegio train. Kołobrzeg - 5 PolRegio trains. Koszalin - 2 PolRegio trains. Kraków - 1 InterCity "Chełmoński" train. Lublin - 1 TLK "Wyczółkowski" train. Nowogard - 1 PolRegio train. Poznań - 1 PolRegio train. Przemyśl - 1 InterCity train "Przemyślinin". Słupsk - 1 PolRegio "Pomerania" train. Suwałki - 1 InterCity train "Podlasiak". Szczecin - 19 PolRegio trains. Świnoujście - 7 PolRegio trains. Warsaw - 2 trains: InterCity "Mewa", TLK "Uznam".

Railway lines:

Railway line No. 401 Szczecin Dąbie - Świnoujście Port.

Railway line No. 401 Szczecin Dąbie - Świnoujście The port is a railway line with a length of 100.713 km. The line is double-track, electrified and lies entirely in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship. The maximum speed is 130 km/h, and for freight trains only 80 km/h. The line connects the following stations: Szczecin Dąbie, Goleniów, Wysokie Kamieńska, Wolin, Międzyzdroje, and Świnoujście.

The first section of Szczecin Dąbie - Goleniów (in the direction of Nowogard) was opened in 1882. The investor was the Dąbsko - Kołobrzeska Railway Company. The next section of Goleniów - Wolin was built by the Prussian Eastern Railway in 1892. The railway was brought to Międzyzdroje in 1899, and further to Świnoujście in 1900. In 1901, a railway ferry was built between the island of Wolin and the island of Uznam. A second track was soon built along the entire length of the trail, which was planned from the very beginning.

In May 1945, the trail was impassable due to the destruction of bridges, as well as looting by the Soviets. Movement was restored gradually until the early 1960s.

In December 1979, the electrification of the Szczecin - Goleniów route was completed, and in 1980 the route to Świnoujście.

Line No. 401 was moderately loaded with passenger traffic. For many years, the only long-distance trains to Świnoujście, outside the summer season, were the night trains to Warsaw and Krakow. The situation changed during the holiday season, when a lot of passenger trains came to seaside towns. Currently, freight traffic is large and fluid. Goods are transported from/to the seaport in Świnoujście and those serving the LNG terminal.

Railway line No. 402 Koszalin - Goleniów.

The railway line No. 402 Koszalin - Goleniów is 142.939 km long. The line is single track. The line is electrified on the Koszalin - Kołobrzeg section. The maximum speed is 120 km/h. The line connects: Koszalin - Kołobrzeg - Gryfice - Nowogard - Goleniów. The line is entirely located in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship. The line was electrified (Koszalin - Kołobrzeg) in 1988. A complete electrification was planned, which was not carried out.

The line was built on the Szczecin Dąbie - Płoty section in 1882. In January 1883, the trail was extended to Gryfice. The entire line was established by May 18, 1899. After nationalization, the route was included in the Ostbahn, and its manager was the Prussian State Railways.

The most important investment in recent years is the reconstruction of the siding and connecting the tracks to the Szczecin Goleniów Airport. The route runs near the airport on the Nowogard-Goleniów section. From the side of the Osina railway station, there is a railway siding used to deliver goods to the airport when it was a military airport. This siding is no longer in use. Going further towards Goleniów, there is the Mosty train stop. After the Mosty stop, there is a new railway siding, which turns left, to the north and runs across the airport parallel to the RWY, from the north-east to the passenger terminal. The section is single-track, non-electrified. There is a train stop here and the track ends. To change direction, the driver must go to the cab at the other end of the train. The train returns along the same track. When the train is to continue to Goleniów, it turns left, west and re-enters route 402. Thus, trains to the airport can enter both from Goleniów and Nowogard. The redevelopment plan was approved in March 2010. The works were carried out in the period 2010 - 2013. The first train arrived at the airport stop on May 29, 2013.

At the same time, repairs were carried out along the entire length of the route, which consisted in replacing the track surface, track and drainage works, replacing the surface of crossings, repairing and modernizing selected platforms and installing bus shelters, rebuilding rail traffic control devices, repairing engineering structures and rail traffic control devices. These works made it possible to increase the speed of the train to 120 km/h. The total cost of the works amounted to approximately PLN 67 million.

Railway line No. 424 Goleniów - Maszewo.

The railway line No. 424 Goleniów - Maszewo was established in 1903. It was single-track, non-electrified, 16.557 km long. The line was used for local passenger and freight transport. In May 1992, the trail was closed to passenger traffic. Freight traffic stopped around 1997. The tracks were dismantled in 2006. Tracks at railroad crossings remain. At the Goleniów station, the track in the direction of Maszewo station was completed with a retaining trestle. There were stations and stops on the line: Ciechno, Podańsko, Tarnówko, Danowo, Dobrosławiec Maszewski, Radzanek, Maszewo.
