Electric locomotives Škoda 59E Series 182, were mass-produced in the period 1963-1965, for railways in Czechoslovakia. 168 electric locomotives were produced. The locomotives were produced for driving heavy freight trains. After the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, the locomotives were distributed between the two countries. In Slovakia, they received the designation Øada 182. In the 90s, about 108 locomotives were delivered to Polish private carriers, which were marked as Series 182.

Construction of the Electric Locomotive Škoda 59E, Series 182.

The locomotive was built in a classic layout. Driver's cabins are installed at both ends of the box. Between them there is a machinery compartment. The front of the locomotive received a rounded, aerodynamic shape. Two flat-panel windows were installed in the front, equipped with wipers, with the axis of rotation located at the top. There are three headlights in the front. The endcarriage has bumpers, a screw-type coupling as well as electrical and pneumatic connections. A ploughshare was installed under the headstock. On the side of the box, there are entrance doors to the cabins and six windows, two of which have opening windows. The windows in the door open. Two pantographs and air intakes for compressors and ventilation are installed on the roof.

The locomotive is built in the Co'Co' system. An electric motor is mounted on each axle. Engine type 2 AD 4346 gT. Gear ratios 1:4,238. The locomotive is equipped with an air brake, an auxiliary brake and a hand brake. The locomotive has four main compressed air tanks with a total capacity of 1,330 litres. The running system is equipped with a sandbox with a sand supply of 2,200 kg. Double suspension system: leaf springs and springs.
