The Kraków Bieżanów railway station was established in 1856, and its purpose was to connect the Kraków - Rzeszów route with Wieliczka, and more precisely with the salt mine in Wieliczka.
Name of the Bieżanów station. Initially, the station was called Bierzanów, written by "rz". This name was used until 1939. During the German occupation, the station was called Krakau Biezanow. After the Second World War, the station was called Kraków Bieżanów.
