Łódź Airport is one of several communication airports in Poland. Airport Władysława Reymonta has a very good location. The location of the Łódź Airport allows for quick access to the very center of the city, to Piotrkowska Street and to the Łódź Kaliska railway station. Within a dozen or so minutes you can reach Łódź hotels and shopping centers. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the Łódź Fabryczna Railway Station. Direct access to the airport is provided by public transport buses: 65A and 65B. Stops are located directly in front of the entrance to the terminal.

The airport's newest terminal was opened on June 1, 2012. Terminal No. 1 was marked, and during construction it was marked Terminal No. 3. Its construction took three years.

In 2018, the airport in Łódź, with the number of 217,426 passengers served, was ranked 12th among Polish communication airports. From 2012, the airport was used by Wizz Air, which was second only to Ryanair. However, in 2013 Wizz Air withdrew from Łódź. In 2014, the airport was temporarily used by 4You Airlines, but the company quickly collapsed. From 2014, Adria Airways flew from Łódź, which in 2015 opened its air base at the Łódź airport. Also in 2015, the Czech national carrier Czech Airlines announced the start of flights from Łódź. However, already in 2016, Czech Airlines withdrew. At that time, the largest number of charter flights from Łódź were to resorts in Greece. In 2017, Adria Airways withdrew from Łódź. Its routes were taken over by Lufthansa. At that time, Ryanair operated most dynamically, mainly operating flights to Great Britain. In 2019, Lufthansa suspended connections from Łódź. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ryanair suspended flights.

On January 14, 2021, the vice-president of Łódź, Mr. Adam Pustelnik, informed that due to the lack of support from the government, the City of Łódź intends to sell shares in the company - Port Lotniczy Łódź-Lublinek. The authorities of Lodz still need to obtain the consent of the councilors to get rid of the shares in the airport. The search for an investor has begun. The city of Łódź has a 95.5% stake in the Łódź airport. The share capital of the airport is PLN 354.8 million.
