Leszno is a city in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, operating with poviat rights. It is located almost halfway between Poznań and Wrocław. It has an area of 31.86 square kilometers. It is inhabited by 64,500 inhabitants (2017).
Leszno is a city of speedway and motorboat sports. However, Leszno is primarily a center of gliding sports, as well as gliding, airplane, propeller and parachute training. It is in Leszno that the world's largest gliding competition takes place.
