From February 2023, passenger trains running on the route: Kraków Airport - Kraków Główny - Wieliczka Rynek Kopalnia, were covered with an advertisement of the European Games Kraków - Małopolska 2023. Three trains with advertisements of the event left the tracks. The sports event - the 3rd European Games - will take place from June 21, 2023 to July 2, 2023.
Trains promoting the Games also appeared on other routes. In addition, spots promoting the Games are displayed on LCD monitors inside the trains. This form of advertising is used in thirty other passenger trains belonging to Koleje Małopolskie.
According to the councilors of the City of Krakow, organizing the Games in Krakow is to encourage tourists to visit the city and the region more often, after the Chinese virus pandemic. That is why the slogan of the Games is "We are unity". The opening ceremony of the Games is scheduled for June 21, 2023. This will be the third edition of the event. The first event - Azerbaijan in 2015, the second event - Belarus in 2019, i.e. countries that are not very democratic. Apparently, the candidacy of Kraków and Małopolska was the only one. But let's remember that on June 22, 2019, when Krakow was chosen to host the Games, Belarus tried to be a democratic country and took part in numerous events in Europe and in Poland.
The sports competition will take place in the following cities of Małopolska: Kraków, Tarnów, Krynica Zdrój, Zakopane, Nowy Targ, Nowy Sącz, Oświęcim, Myślenice, Krzeszowice, as well as: Bielsko Biała, Chorzów, Wrocław, Rzeszów. 7,000 competitors from 50 countries are expected to take part in the competition.
