EZT Newag EN63A-002 = 36WEa-002 Impuls.
From the very beginning, NEWAG from Nowy Sącz planned to build an entire family of EMUs, under the trade name IMPULS. Individual trains were to differ in the number of wagons; from 2 to 6. Immediately after the production of the four-car unit, orders for three-car units were received. They received the factory marking 36WEa and, at the same time, the railway marking EN63A. The letter "A" in the designation refers to asynchronous traction motors. In 2014, NEWAG produced the following three-car units: EN63A-001 36WEa-001, EN63A-002 36WEa-002, EN63A-005 36WEa-005, EN63A-006 36WEa-006, EN63A-007 36WEa-007.
In 2013, the local government of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship established a company dealing with rail passenger transport in the Krakow region. Koleje Małopolskie, abbreviated KMŁ, has the letter identifier KMAL. Transport for Koleje Małopolskie was carried out by PolRegio.
The inauguration of regular transport took place on November 6, 2014, on the Kraków Główny - Wieliczka Kopalnia Rynek route. To service this first route, the KMŁ company leased 3 new EMUs EN63A = 36WEa. These trains received individual names and stickers with a nice landscape. These three trains were delivered by the manufacturer NEWAG in October 2014. All trains were painted orange, white and navy blue.
