Polish express steam locomotive Pt47-13.
The Pt47 locomotive is a Polish express steam locomotive of Polish construction, produced in the period 1948–1951 for the Polish State Railways. The steam locomotive is modeled on the Polish, pre-war Pt31 locomotive. The production of Pt47 steam locomotives was carried out at FABLOK in Chrzanów and at HCP in Poznań. A total of 180 steam locomotives were built.
The Pt47 steam locomotive is described in another chapter. In this chapter, we will describe the Pt47-13 steam locomotive, which is currently (2021) an exhibit at the train station in Skarżysko Kamienna.
Pt47-13 is the oldest steam locomotive of this series preserved in Poland as a monument. The locomotive was built in 1948 in the "First Locomotive Factory in Poland, Chrzanów" plant and received the factory number 1863. The tender 33D48-13 was attached to the locomotive, which was manufactured at the same time. The boiler was manufactured in the factory "Polskie Zakłady Babcock-Zieleniewski, Sosnowiec".
In October 1948, the Pt47-13 locomotive was sent to work in the Poznań Główny locomotive depot, to service passenger (fast) trains on the Warsaw - Poznań route. The Pt47-13 locomotive served successively in: MD Bydgoszcz Główna (from 1962), MD Tarnowskie Góry (from 1968), MD Toruń Kluczyki (from 1969), MD Lublin (from 1975), MD Skarżysko Kamienna (from 1986 ), MD Rozwadów (from January 1988).
In October 1988, the locomotive ended service. The locomotive was transported to Dęblin and was kept as a reserve in the event of "W". In 1994, the locomotive was erected as a monument at the Bielsko Biała station. In 2001, the locomotive was transferred to the Kraków Płaszów station. In 2011, the locomotive was delivered to Skarżysko Kamienna. Here, the locomotive was renovated and painted to the level of the exhibit, and from April 2012, it was erected as a monument. The locomotive is under the care of the The White Eagle in Skarżysko Kamienna.
