OKi2 steam locomotives.

A steam locomotive marked OKi2 in Poland is a passenger steam locomotive (O) tendrzak (K - short, kusy) with the axis "i". The locomotive was developed and produced by Prussia as the T12 series. Another Germanic designation DRG Baureihe 74-4-13. The manufacturer of the locomotive was the company August Borsig Lokomotiv-Werke in Berlin. In the period 1902-1921, as many as 1,014 copies were built. The locomotive was intended for local, fast, short-distance traffic. The steam locomotive had a superheated steam boiler, a twin engine and was of a similar design to the OKi1 steam locomotive used in parallel.

In 1914, Germany started a great war. As a result, the Central Powers lost and several nations regained independence. The Republic of Poland was reborn. 12 T12 series locomotives were accepted for the state of the Polish State Railways, which were designated OKi2 in Poland.

Currently (2022) there are 3 T12 locomotives with the serial numbers 74 1230, 74 1192 and 74 1234. The OKi2-27 locomotive No. 74 1230 is preserved in the Museum of Industry and Railway in Jaworzyna.

Steam locomotive OKi2-27:

Year of production 1916. Factory number 9527/74 1230. In 1945, the locomotive was taken over by the Polish State Railways. From June 1945, the locomotive worked in the Zbąszynek locomotive depot. In June 1955, the locomotive was handed over to ZNTK Łapy as a factory locomotive. In March 1977, it was withdrawn from traffic. In 1985, it was an exhibit at the Railway Museum in Warsaw. From January 1993, in Jaworzyna Śląska.
