Construction

Construction PWS-1.

PWS-1 is a fighter and line (destructive), two-seater, single-engine, high-wing aircraft, mixed construction. Umbrella type construction system.

Double-girder wooden wing. The front wing is covered with plywood, and the rest has canvas covering. A panel attached to the hull with steel pipes and supported by two pairs of braces, additionally crossed with wires. On the trailing edge, flap ailerons were installed along the entire length.

Wing in PWS-1 bis, metal construction, duralumin. The wings have two girders. The front wing is covered with plywood, and the rest has canvas covering.

The oval fuselage, made in the form of a truss, welded from steel pipes and is supplemented with wooden slats. The engine mount is made of steel pipes. The front part of the fuselage is covered with duralumin sheet. The rest of the hull is covered with plywood and canvas.

Wooden structure structured with canvas. Ballasts supported by braces and stiffened with wires.

Three-support chassis with rear skid. Three-leg main chassis.

Armament (expected): 1 or 2 fixed, synchronized machine guns, operated by a pilot, 7.7 mm Vickers type and 2 movable (on a turntable) machine guns, 7.7 mm Lewis type, operated by an observer. The plane could take 400 kg of bombs.

Equipment (expected): camera, communication radio, illuminating bombs, photo carabiner.

In-line engine in the "W" system, Skoda Lorraine-Dietrich LD 12 Eb, with 331 kW (450 hp).

Construction PWS-5.

PWS-5 is a connecting, two-seater, single-engine, biplane, wooden structure.

Rectangular, wooden, double-girder flaps, box girders. The wings are covered with plywood at the front, and the rest are covered with canvas. The wings are stiffened between each other with N-shaped pillars and oblique braces, mounted on a steel tube pyramid on the hull. There is no crucifixion with wires. Slotted ailerons, covered with canvas, in a prototype on both panels, in serial aircraft only on the upper panel. The wings are folded for surface transport.

The fuselage of rectangular section, wooden, truss, covered with plywood. The front of the fuselage and the top in front of the cabin are covered with aluminum sheet.

Classic solid triple chassis with rear runner.

Radial engine, Wright "Whirlwind J5" with a nominal power of 162 kW (220 HP). The engine is air-cooled.

The armament is composed of one movable machine gun, on a turntable, type Lewis cal. 7.7 mm.

The equipment is an RKL / D on-board radio, F50 camera, device for intercepting reports, propeller generator, electrical installation.

Data T-T PWS-5t2.

Span 9.0 m, length 6.78 m, height 2.9 m, load surface 25.0 m2, curb weight 735 kg, payload 385 kg, total weight 1 120 kg, maximum speed 155 km / h, cruising speed 135 km / h, landing speed 60 km / h, climb speed 2.7 m / s, ceiling 3 300 m, range 550 km.

Construction PWS-6.

PWS-6 is a two-seat, biplane, wooden structure.

Rectangular wings with rounded ends, wooden, double-girder, covered with plywood to the first girder, the rest with canvas. Gills were mounted on the upper wing. The wings are stiffened between each other with N-shaped pillars and oblique braces, mounted on a steel tube pyramid on the hull. There is no crucifixion with wires. Crevice shutters, covered with canvas. The wings are folded for surface transport.

Oval cross-section fuselage, wooden, truss, profiled with slats, covered with canvas. Front of the fuselage covered with aluminum sheet. The serial version envisaged the use of a metal fuselage welded from steel pipes.

Wooden texture, covered with canvas. Horizontal stabilizer, supported with braces, vertical stabilizer, stiffened with wire.

Construction PWS-10.

PWS-10 is a single-seater high wing, with a metal-wooden structure.

Double-girder wing covered with canvas with two pairs of struts connecting the flap to the hull. Oval outline of the wing.

The fuselage was very carefully developed, relatively narrow and long. The fuselage begins with a large propeller hub that smoothly passes the engine cover. The disturbing element of the flow around the hull is the cooler located under the fuselage, because the engine is cooled by liquid. The fuselage is a truss structure, welded from steel pipes, additionally profiled with wooden slats. The front of the hull is covered with sheet metal, and from the pilot's cabin covered with canvas.

Two-legged chassis with rear tail skid.

The drive was provided by a 12-cylinder, liquid-cooled, V-shaped Lorraine-Dietrich LD-12Eb engine, with a nominal power of 331 kW (450 HP), with a cooler located under the engine. The engine propelled Szomański's two-blade propeller.

The armament is two synchronized machine guns, type Vickers wz. 09/18 caliber 7.92 mm or Vickers E caliber 7.92 mm.

The equipment is a K-28 photo carbine, Perkun rocket launcher.

Data T-T PWS-10.

Span 11.0 m, length 7.7 m, height 2.9 m, carrying surface 18.25 m2, curb weight 1 080 kg, payload 381 kg, total weight 1 461 kg, maximum speed 241 km / h, speed cruising 215 km / h, climb speed 6 m / s, ceiling 6 125 m, range 560 km.

Construction PWS-19.

PWS-19 is a reconnaissance-bomb (linear) aircraft. Built in a high-wing system, single-engine, two-seater. The aircraft is a mixed construction with a double vertical tail in the high-wing aircraft system.

The plane has a straight wing, with a large elongation. The wing is connected to the hull by a profiled turret.

The fuselage is of metal construction and oval cross-section. The fuselage is made of welded steel pipes. The structure is stiffened with tubes and wires. The front part of the fuselage is covered with duralumin sheet, up to the height of the crew cabins. The rest is covered with canvas on profiled slats.

Classic, three-support chassis with tail skid. Wheels covered with fairings.

Pratt & Whitney "Hornet" T-2 star engine, 525 hp, air-cooled. The engine is surrounded by a Townend ring. The Pratt & Whitney R-1690 Hornet T-2 engine is a 9-cylinder star, air-cooled, with a capacity of 27.7 liters. The engine was mass-produced in 1926-1942. 2,944 copies were built, which were produced in: USA, Italy, Germany.

Data T-T PWS-19.

Span 14.5 m, length 9.18 m, height 3.16 m, carrying surface 29.0 m2, curb weight 1340 kg, total weight 2 185 kg, maximum speed 234 km / h, operating ceiling 7 200 m, range of 760 km.
