History

205b Section 13.07.1967 year. Michaił Leontjewicz Mil  Mi-8

Mi-8 helicopters in the Polish Army.

The first Mil Mi-8 helicopters were purchased for the Polish Army in 1967. They were bought for tasks for rapid response units. They were supposed to quickly deliver assault platoons with medium-caliber armaments instead of fighting. Then these helicopters were to support the army from the air. Finally, they were to evacuate the wounded from the battlefield and entire units in the event of a breakdown of the attack. First, four Mil Mi-8 T (transport version) helicopters were purchased and entered service in 1967 and 1968.
