The Gmhx postal car No. 040 314 is in the collection of the Railway Open-Air Museum in Chabowka. The wagon was built in 1930 at the Niesky factory in Germany. The wagons were used to transport postal items; mainly letters, postcards and parcels. The car was divided into three parts; warehouse, sorting room (office) and social part. The postal workers who worked in the wagon were called ambulances, from the word ambulance, which means a vehicle for special transport. During the train's run, employees segregated letters and postcards according to towns (railway stations) along the route. Shipments were also collected at the stations.

The Gmhx postal car No. 040 314 in the 90s of the 20th century was renovated at ZNTK in Ostrów Wielkopolski. The external equipment and markings of the wagon are in accordance with its original purpose. The interior of the car has been adapted to serve as a café car. The interior features a wooden bar counter and wooden tables with wooden benches. Number of seats 34. A new electrical installation and lighting were installed. The walls are lined with wooden paneling.

The Gmhx postal car No. 040 314 is a four-axle car whose body stands on two rolling bogies. Total length 21.25 m. The spacing of the pivots is 14.00 m. Maximum speed 80 km/h. The wagon had steam heating and electric stoves.
