De Havilland D.H. 100 Vampire is the UK's first successful single-engine fighter. A total of 3,268 copies were built. In the CCCP, the counterpart of the British fighter was the Yakovlev Yak-15 plane.

De Havilland D.H. 100 Vampire FB Mk.6 nb J-1142 was manufactured in Switzerland by Pilatus Aircraft under license. It was used by the Swiss Air Force. After service, the plane was preserved and remained in storage. In 2010, it was donated to the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow.
The Vampire FB Mk.6 nb J-1142 plane was brought to Krakow on a car platform, partially disassembled. After reassembly, it was placed in the main hangar of the museum. During the renovation of the museum hangar (2018-2020), the Vampire FB Mk.6 nb J-1142 was placed at the outdoor exhibition and was protected against rain with foil.
