Dassault - Dornier Alpha Jet is a light attack and training aircraft. Developed and operated in France and Germany. On October 26, 1973, the first French prototype made its first flight at Istres, Marseille. France and Germany each had 200 aircraft in service. 80 planes were bought by neighboring countries.
In 1995, when the Polish Army had already put the PZL I-22 Iryda into service, an offer appeared in Poland to buy Alpha Jet aircraft, which had been withdrawn from service in the Luftwaffe (Germany). It was another attempt to destroy the Polish construction of the PZL I-22 Iryda. Which, however, finally happened. Fortunately, the Alpha Jet planes were not purchased. Alpha Jet planes did not meet Polish needs and were impressed by the Polish PZL I-22 Iryda. For example, Alpha Jet could not use airports with a dirt surface, which in the Polish construction used to be in the brochure.
