2nd Tactical Aviation Brigade.
1997 year - 2009 year.
The 2nd Tactical Aviation Brigade (2. BLT) was a tactical aviation unit of the Polish Army in the period 1997 - 2009. The unit operated as Unit 3091. The unit was formed by order of the Ministry of National Defense of November 24, 1997. Poznań was designated as the stationing place. The 2nd Tactical Aviation Brigade was subordinated to the 3rd Air Defense Corps.
On October 22, 1998, the 7th Bomber and Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment from Powidz was subordinated to the 2nd Tactical Aviation Brigade. In 1999, the 7th PLB-R was disbanded and the 6th and 7th ELT were formed, which became part of the Brigade. The 2nd BLT had Sukhoi Su-22 aircraft in stock.
On December 31, 2000, the Brigade included the 3rd ELT in Krzesiny and the 10th ELT in Łask. As a result, the 2nd BLT had MiG-21 aircraft in stock, which were withdrawn from service in 2003. PZL TS-11 Iskra aircraft were temporarily introduced in their place.
On August 31, 2002, the 2nd Tactical Aviation Brigade received the banner.
In 2005, the 2nd BLT included three air bases: Powidz, Krzesiny, Łask, and in 2006, the 16th airfield damage control battalion in Jarocin.
In 2009, the 2nd BLT changed its name to the 2nd Tactical Aviation Wing.
