Until 2000, at the Mińsk Mazowiecki Airport, the 1st Regiment of Fighter Air Force was stationed equipped with MiG-29 aircraft. On January 1, 2001, the regiment was transformed into the 1st Tactical Aviation Squadron and the 23rd Air Base.
In 2002, the branch received a standard. Then the banner was taken over by the 23rd Tactical Air Base.
On July 1, 2010, the 23rd Air Base was transformed into the 23rd Tactical Air Base. The base is operationally under the 1st Tactical Aviation Wing with command in Świdwin.
In 2012, a commemorative badge was established and an airline emblem of the 23rd Tactical Air Base. In 2012, the branch's identification mark was introduced.
