The Kraków Mydlniki railway station is located on the Kraków Główny railway line - Kraków Balice Airport.

The village of Mydlniki was founded in the 11th century. Mydlniki was a village bordering Bronowice in the suburbs of Krakow. On January 1, 1973, Mydlniki was incorporated into the city of Krakow.

In the period 1844 - 1847, a railway was built that connected Kraków with Silesia. The first railway connection between Mysłowice and Kraków was launched on October 13, 1847. On that day, the first train, pulled by a steam locomotive named "Kraków", left the Kraków railway station on the route to Mysłowice. Initially, the line was single-track, but the rapidly increasing freight and passenger traffic decided to build a second track. At that time, the Mydlniki railway station was not there yet. A passing loop was temporarily built here. The presence of Fort 41a "Mydlniki", which was part of the outer defensive ring of the city of Krakow, and Krakow at that time was under the Austro-Hungarian partition, spoke for the construction of a passing loop in this place.
