This year (2016) marks the four years of operation of Lublin Airport, the newest commercial airport in Poland. Despite the reluctance of the central authorities in Warsaw, and especially of the previous masonic-liberal government of the Republic of Poland, the port is developing and achieving better and better economic results. In 2015, the port handled 265,021 passengers. This year (2016) is even more ambitious. Port authorities count on handling up to 430,000 travelers. April 2016 was very good. 32,200 passengers were handled. In May 2016, the number of 35,054 people was reached, with 491 air operations, and this is just the beginning of the holiday season.

And all this with the systematic boycott of the Lublin Port by LOT Polish Airlines. Let us recall that when the construction of the terminal and the entire take-off field began, the authorities of PLL LOT expressed interest in launching local connections from Lublin. Then, when the construction was already very advanced, PLL LOT withdrew from the promises made. It was a classic example of treating Poland "B" as the inferior and of little value. The actions of local government officials from the Lublin region contributed to finding a carrier willing to handle connections. It was the WIZZ AIR lines. Then RYANAIR appeared, followed by Lufthansa and the Lithuanian charter carrier Small Planet. At the moment, connections from Lublin were handled by Euro-LOT.

At the moment, we do not know what the financial liquidity of the Port of Lublin looks like, but I hope that the airport will develop, new carriers will arrive and new connections will be established. The Lublin region is worth it and the people who live here have the right to do so.
